Wigan-based ArrowXL, the leading two-person home delivery expert, is celebrating after the company secured a top industry award last week. The company - located at Martland Park - fought off tough competition to triumph in the Training category at the 2019 Motor Transport Awards, held at the prestigious Grosvenor House in London.

The award recognised that ArrowXL stood out from its competitors in terms of commitment to training, excellence in learning and development strategy, and positive employee engagement. The company impressed the judging panel after launching the ArrowXL Development Academy. The £50,000 centre - which includes a purpose-built apartment for crews to practice deliveries and installations - has delivered more than 1400 sessions since May 2018, secured an accreditation to deliver certain driver qualifications in-house, and helped the company to achieve a best in-class Trustpilot score of 9.2.

Zoe Sinclair, Director of People Services at ArrowXL, collected the award from hosts Omid Djalili and Claudia Winkleman. She said: “We are extremely proud to have won the Motor Transport Award for Training, which is down to the hard work and determination of our team. We are committed to providing our colleagues with access to the very best training programmes in an innovative and dedicated environment – and the ArrowXL Development Academy ticks all of the boxes.”
